The best way to support humans is through design. I want to employ a school that I saw in all elements of design and architecture in my recent trip to Japan, in the UK, after growing up in a town in steady decline and neglect by the council. Visiting cities like Tokyo, Venice and Doha, and seeing the stark difference in socialisation, deepened my interest in urban planning and how design influences human dynamics. The lack of third spaces in suburban areas in the UK, especially after new policy changes around the youths access to the internet, highlights the urgent need for those who are willing to design for the community in mind, and outside of people's homes.
